Michael Williams

Director of Content Innovation

Michael has spent more than three decades proving that content worth making starts with strategy. He began as a photographer and director, then went on to build platforms and run creative operations. Decades of experience across photography and film have given him a deep understanding of production — and of how much of the real work happens before the camera ever rolls.

For ten years, he served as Editor-in-Chief of Imagista, a photography and talent platform that grew to 50,000 followers and produced three print editions. His commercial directing work has been nominated for a Cannes Lion. His client portfolio spans luxury, fashion, beauty, consumer, pharmaceutical, and financial brands, including Vogue, Elle, Armani, AXE, Revlon, MAC Cosmetics, Hershey’s, Target, H&M, Procter & Gamble, and Bose.

Michael sees the whole picture from day one. A single shoot can become a long-form story, a series of shorter edits, and a cohesive social strategy, all built from the same strategic core. His focus is always on maximizing the value of the work while maintaining a level of quality that often exceeds what the budget suggests is possible.

He is straightforward, collaborative, and exacting about standards. He is also easy to work with and brings the kind of energy that makes a long day on set or in a strategy session feel productive rather than exhausting.

At the Bureau, Michael directs content innovation across the division.
