Don’t Lose Your TikTok Followers

Uncertain what’s going to happen with TikTok? Here at The Bureau of Small Projects we are too. Here are some methods to encourage your followers to connect in other ways in case TikTok does end up going away. (It’s also good practice even if TikTok sticks around.)

Collect Those Emails

Use the Instant Form feature in TikTok and create a lead generation campaign. But like all best practices, create huge value in your call to action of course. You can even connect this lead generation campaign to your email service. You may need to use an integration tool like Zapier to connect Mailchimp, for example but it is doable.

Or you can collect the emails in TikTok and manually import them into your email platform. And of course once people are reading your emails you can encourage them to connect with your other social channels.

Add Other Social Media Accounts to Your TikTok Profile

By going to the profile “edit” button you can add button links to your profile which can send people to the social channels of your choice.*

You can also use a “link-in-bio” service like Linktree to link to a landing page where you can add multiple links.

*Some people have trouble adding other links to their TikTok profile. Make sure you have a TikTok business account and you are logged in using a username and password instead of logging in with Google. Also make sure your Instagram login information is accurate. You can also try clearing your cache to see if that helps.

Organic Call to Actions

Ask followers in your TikTok posts to follow you on Instagram. “Don’t miss any of our content! Follow us on Instagram, @yourusername to stay connected.”

Get Started Immediately

Get these steps up and running immediately because it can take time for people to respond. They need to see the message frequently and with value to invest in connecting with you elsewhere.

Don’t lose your TikTok followers!

It’s A Good Idea Regardless

And what if TikTok ends up staying around? Great. You’ve got organic community members seeing your content in multiple places. As a matter of fact, that sounds like a great topic for another Bureau of Small Projects article!
